2008-09 Topps Basketball Hobby Box Break

I got this box from the Blowout Cards weekend specials for $30. The chance at getting a Derrick Rose rookie photo shoot or McDonald’s High School All-American card was what drew me to this. Well, I didn’t end up with either of those, but I still think I did pretty well.

I ended up with a Spencer Haywood autographed 1958-59 variation card, a Carmelo Anthony rip card /99, a John Salmons black /51 and a few nice Lebron and Kobe insert cards. I think I got all the good rookies, but I wasn’t really paying attention to the base all that much.

Does anyone know if these rip cards are worth ripping? I looked in an old Beckett I had lying around and it doesn’t look like there’s any incentive to rip these. I didn’t see where you could get an autographed mini like they have in A&G Baseball. Also, the sale prices on eBay for these is very low so I assume there’s not much you can get out of them.
