2012 Bowman Numbering Errors

UPDATE: Robby Price definitely exists as a base card and shares #20 with Jeimer Candelario. So, there are four numbers that don’t exist in the base prospect set and four numbers that are shared. Details on that below.

UPDATE:Maybe the Robby Price base prospect card does exist. I’m seeing some on eBay that appear to be live, not just presale items. Leave a comment if you can confirm his card number in the base prospect set.

2012 Bowman released today and has been a huge hit with collectors. What won’t be a huge hit are more numbering errors. We seem to get this with each prospect release by Topps. Below is what I’ve found and I believe to be complete. These are all isolated to the Bowman base prospect set. The chrome prospect set and base veteran/rookie set are free of numbering errors.

The important thing to note is that the base prospect set is only 109 cards because of these errors. Robby Price was left out and only has a chrome card. Four numbers don’t exist and three four numbers are duplicated. Details below.

Numbers that don’t exist in base Bowman
BP40 (Paul Hoilman in chrome)
BP82 (Dayan Diaz in chrome)
BP90 (Robby Price in chrome)
BP95 (Luis Angel Sanz in chrome)

Duplicate numbers
BP9 Paul Hoilman
BP9 Eddie Rosario

BP20 Robby Price
BP20 Jeimer Candelario

BP62 Dayan Diaz
BP62 Kes Carter

BP108 Luis Angel Sanz
BP108 Carlos Martinez

THANKS FOR THE INFO ON THE 2012 BOWMAN PROSPECTS SET. ALSO DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE ERRORS IN THE BASE SET I HAVE 32 CARDS THAT DON’T HAVE THE NAME OF THE PLAY ON THE FRONT OF THE CARD. RECEIVED CARDS OUT OF A BLASTER BOXES.

No name on the front is a misprint, not an error. I had quite a few of those in 2012 Topps Series 1. The foil is missing from the card. You can get a decent premium for those on eBay if you have any star players. Oddball collectors will buy these too.
