Upper Deck Redemption Mail Day

I pulled this 2008-09 Fleer Ultra Hockey Zach Boychuk redemption card from a retail pack of back in November. Well, it was actually from a full retail box. I had ordered enough from Dave & Adam’s Card World that they threw threw in the box as my free gift.

Two things surprised me in this redemption process:
1. Upper Deck is still redeeming these cards until 9/15/11. I find this amazing. It still adds some value to an older (cheap) product like this. A quick scan of eBay showed that Drew Doughty and T.J. Oshie are other possible redemption rookies. I believe the Steven Stamkos is as well, although none of the auctions are labeled that way.
2. It took three months to get this card back. That’s right, they received the card from me on 11/21/2010.

Anyway, I hope this information helps some of you out. Retail is so cheap on this product that you may want to pick up a few boxes and see if you can score a Stamkos.

Three months? That doesn’t bode well for the redemption cards that I redeemed at the beginning of January from Upper Deck. It’s already been two months (almost) and nothing so far.

I know, it’s crazy. I can understand three months for a redemption card from a brand new product because they’re waiting on a player to sign or something. This card is from 2008-09 and sitting in their warehouse.

Same thing with mine. They were listed on the as being in stock and ready to ship. I sent an e-mail to Upper Deck and they apologized and said that they were very behind in fulfilling redemptions. I guess that’s what happens when they’re constantly losing lawsuits.

  1. No trackbacks yet.
