2011 Bowman Baseball Sell Sheet and Checklist Released

This is always an exciting one to look over. I’m pumped because Pedro Alvarez will finally have a Pirates card. To date, Topps has only made an eTopps card of him in his Pirates uniform and a Pro Debut card of him in his Lynchburg Hillcats uniform (A ball).

It looks like there will all sorts of fun stuff in this product. Last year’s product went through the roof because of Strasburg’s rookie. I don’t think we’ll see 2011 go as high as 2010, but it will still be pricey because of the Bryce Harper cards. There’s also a lot of chatter already about the Brandon Belt autograph.

Head on over to the Blowout Cards forums to check out the 2011 Bowman Chrome Sell Sheet & Checklist.

As a Pirates fan, I’ve been waiting for Pedro Alvarez’s first Bowman card. However he is listed in the checklist as a BASE card (#156), and not part of the RC BASE ROOKIES as I expected (which have the RC logo). Very confused & disapointed. How can this be??? I know his exclusive 3yr contract with Razor is finally over, but is possible that the future star & #2 overall pick in the 2008 draft won’t have a RC auto in 2011 Bowman??? It’s just not right.

Yeah, it’s too bad. We’ve pretty much lost out on having any great rookie items of Alvarez. Other guys included in the Razor deal had cards produced by Topps in 2010, not sure why Alvarez was the exception. No, I don’t count Pro Debut as a legitimate card. Although, I did get in a bidding war on his red 1/1 from Pro Debut on eBay only to lose out on it. We can only hope that Topps will put something of his out this year worth buying. If not, I’ll stick with my Upper Deck USA autographs.
